The main streets in Shanghai at every moment of the day

Rather the center of Shanghai

Description:
As you will see on the pictures, for those who still have in mind that this city is like every traditional town in China, you are totally wrong. Shanghai has become an enormous metropolis, I would rather say: Shanghai is the Chinese New York. I mean, go in the center, to the most famous place called People Square (人民广场) and you will see rising skycrapers with high-end flatscreens on them all around you whereas People Square remains a little park where you can enjoy a little walk surrounded by green trees and grass fields.

Moreover, when you look on the main streets you also have flatscreens often with entertaining movies every 500 meters. There are many "main streets" in Shanghai but the two most well-known are Nanjing Road (南京路) and Huaihai Road (淮海路) which are located in the center of Shanghai. You will find many attractions, museums, restaurants, bars, clubs and places to visit along those roads. The other part that every tourist has to go to is Pudong (浦东), the business center of Shanghai. With the over 350 meters Oriental Pearl Tower where you can have the best bird's-eye view of Shanghai (well, I hope for you that the pollution rate won't be so high when you go there because else, you won't see very far...) and the Jin Mao Tower, the tallest tower of the city.

China is also well-known for its fake-markets where you can buy each kind of clothes with fake brands but I won't tell you so much about it, not to keep this market secret but, that is rather something that you have to experience live: my comments won't be powerful enough to describe this kind of business. I can assure you that it's quite funny to negociate hard the prices. As a white guy, it is really difficult to remain unseen therefore you will be accosted by many sellers. A nice experience though.

In fact, Shanghai is a very nice city, people are working the whole day long, there is no week-ends or such days-off as we have in France. Chinese business people and shop keepers don't know what is the meaning of "35 hours" work per week; the slogan here is rather "Work or you'll get fired" because there are many workers waiting for any kind of work. There are many rich Chinese people living in there because they have a big business there but there are also very poor people working hard to earn just a little money; I don't know why but there isn't so much people belonging to the middle class.

Well, that's not everything I can say about it, there is so many comments to do about Shanghai but you can ask me for further details, I'll answer it! Enjoy the few pictures!
